Woodcraft

Woodcraft at Greenbrier includes hiking, pioneering, and caving. In morning classes, boys learn the art of building a campfire, making sassafras tea, pitching a tent, identifying local plants and animals, and using a compass, as well as many other outdoor skills.

The overnight hike to Keeney's Knob challenges older campers and rewards them with a breathtaking view of the Alleghany Mountains. The mud of Pollock's Cave and the tunnels of Greenbrier River Caves provide campers with numerous exciting obstacles. Every camper gets the chance to go on overnight hikes and sleep under the stars.
